The Bridge Art Collective held their sixth exhibition at The Old Bakehouse Hallery in Kyle. The exhibition received press coverage in the West Highland Free Press.
The nine members exhibited a broad range of work including drawing (pen and ink and charcoal), painting (oils and watercolours), printmaking, sculpture, stoneware, ceramics, photography and metalwork.
'My photographs explore an atypical alternative 'new dimension' on the theme of identity. The relationship between photography and identity goes back to the 19th century and the invention of the camera.
Contemporary photographers are instrumental in questioning identity and raising awareness around the fight for identity rights, body politics and socio-political issues.
However, following a near-death episode in 2020, I turned the camera inwards to focus on the organs and structures that keep me alive. Harking back to my medical photography roots, I have produced a striking series of large-scale ‘clinical’ images celebrating the repair of my heart, along with other key organs and structures that keep me alive'.
